Aalto is
famous for his individual style in forms, "wavy lines", (aalto = wave). The
fan-shaped collection room of the lending hall and skylights above it create a harmonious
and unique space design. The operations of the hall are concentrated at the service desk
which realizes one essential vision of Aalto's library philosophy - the idea of library as
a temple of knowledge. The beautiful curved line of this desk is repeated in the service
desk of the magazine room, and together these make up a delightful entity which unfolds
before the eyes of the one who enters the vestibule.
